  • The enzyme from Azotobacter vinelandii is a flavoprotein (FAD).
  • The main function of this enzyme is to oxidize excess of NADPH, forming NADH that supplies electrons to the respiratory chain.
  • This entry stands for enzymes that are Si-specific with respect to both NAD(+) and NADP(+) (see EC 1.6.1.3 for enzymes whose stereo specificity is not known). cf. EC 7.1.1.1.
